Went to the market (Marchés hebdomadaire) at Etales, and it was opening. Parking was tricky - to say the least.
Day 6
Went to the market at Samer, though the market is on a Monday and today is Friday. So, no market.
Day 5
Went to the ceramics museum in Desrves.
Then to E.Leclerc for the fridge fill of the week.
Day 4
We went to the chocolatier and listened to a man talk about chocolate (though in French, so I’ve no idea what he said).
Back for lunch at the house, then out to a vineyard (which wasn’t a vineyard) and the owner told us about the place and we bought wine of various descriptions.
Day 3
A bit of a lie in and then a drive to the Citadel in Montreuil-sur-mer. It was known as just Montreuil until 31 December 2022. It’s twinned with Slough which will be a huge disappointment if they ever visit.
A trip to a brocantes (flea market) where Jane bought me a book by David Bailey.
A shop at Carrefour and home by 330pm. On the way back I thought I saw the mythical potato vending machine, but it was a compost box.
Day 2
Spent an afternoon looking for vending machine that server strawberries. Finally we found it.
We did a blind taste test betwen the supermarket strawberries and the vending machines ones. All three of us picked the vending machines one as being far superior.
Day 1
Up at about 6am, then off to the Eurotunnel. In France by about 11am.
An hour or so driving South.
A couple of days food from E.Leclerc, then a walk round Samer to kill some time before checking in to the b’n.b.
